NEW YORK, 6 Aug - RIA Novosti.
The first three representatives of Russian emigration to the United States, depicted in the documentary films directed by Nina Zaretskaya – culturologist Solomon Volkov, writer Alexander Genis, artist Ilya Kabakov – appear on the Russian screen for the first time, while the film about artist Grisha Bruskin became the final part of the trilogy, independent parts of which appeared with a running start in ten years.
"Russian America had a long way to air, I applied for the series four years ago, and initially it was 20, then 16 portrait films, then they were reduced to eight, and as a result, four were approved. The heroes of the films that will be shown in Russia are wonderful people, although I have to explain why they personify the crème à la crème of emigration. Of course, there are much more outstanding Russian Americans," - Zaretskaya said in an interview with RIA Novosti. <…>
