Spare Times for Oct. 31-Nov. 6
Russian Film Festival (Saturday and Sunday) Russian art and architecture and the Russian-Jewish diaspora are the focus of this free series of screenings and discussions at Hunter College, 68th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues. Saturday’s program, devoted to art and architecture, begins at 5 p.m. with a screening of “Russia! The Drama of Art in Twelve Episodes,” a 2007 documentary by Nina Zaretskaya based on a museum show at the Guggenheim Museum in 2005. The film, in Russian and English, with voice-over translation, will be followed by a discussion with the director. Sunday’s program, from 2 to 8 p.m., will offer films about the immigration experience for Russian Jews. The festival is sponsored by the Russian American Cultural Center and the Russian and Slavic Studies Program at Hunter College. More information: russianamericanculture.com
